Project Offset

This game has been in the oven forever, if im not mistaken I think over ten years now. This game has been on my want list ever sense I saw the trailer back then. I just hope they get it on the shelves before im an old man.

I also think they are bringing it out for the 360, or a next next gen XBOX. On an old part of there site (projectoffset.com) they had a help wanted section that seams to have been taken off line now, but one of the job postings in that section they mentioned was an XBOX developer position.

Now there is something in the websites forums with a post about pc or console that mentions it might not hit the shelves for another 3 or 4 years and it might or might not be a console game.

I dont know on what, how or when, but when it does finnaly hit, I do know I am getting this game even if I have to sell all my other games. Broke art students cant afford brand new 60 doller games lol.

The Darkness

For a little while im going to be a Darkness fan, atleast of the new video game. Im playing through the campaign right now on the 360, and let me tell you it is one of the coolest games ive played in a long time. Not for kids: blood, guts, brains, hearts being riped out of peoples chest, hell with zombie nazis, little gremlins (Darklings) that kill people and then piss on there dead bodies, giant evil snakes that protrude out of your own back, guns, shootings through the mouth, and all the swearing an adult can handle, even for someone who likes to watch HBO late at night. The game looks and feels like the true nextgen game that we all seen on the videos from E3 back in the day before the nextgen hit the shelves. The graphix are amazing, so far the best Ive seen in the next gen war, so far. The sound adds to the drama that the Darkness deserves, and the rest, controll playability… all the other good stuff kinda reminds me of half life 2, just a lill bit. But I’m going to play through this game to the end, and we will see how long I embrace the Darkness… mmmmhaha haha hah ah ha ha ha!!!

Haloramics

Haloramics = Halo 3 screenshots in a panoramic view. This is something you can do to further extend your screenshot creativity in Halo 3. The how to is a panoramic photography technique, its actually a little easier taking pictures for Panoramics in Halo 3 then in real life, due to camera stabilization and position freedom. Simply all you do is leave the camera in a static position and rotate left, right, up and down for each individual shot. Each shot has to be overlaped by the next so that they can later be stitched in Photoshop or a similar photo editing program. after the process of stitching the screenshots you can then play around with the tools Photoshop provides to make a cool customized composition.

I was first introduced to Haloramics over at Bungie.net/news First News Post , Second News Post. These are two different news updates on the founding father of Haloramics “El Burritoh”. To see his awsome work take a look at his gallery at Tied The Leader.com. From that news post a member from the Bungie community by the name of AmX14 started a fan group properly named Haloramics. So far 146 members of the Bungie community have joined the Haloramic group and have produced some awsome work. I’ve been a huge fan of the awesome additions Bungie put into Halo 3 like custom armor, cool achievements, Forge (Map Designing), film clips and more. The big one for me have been the screen shot feature. When you play a game on Halo 3 no matter if its campaign, multilayer, custom or forge, you have a chance to watch it in there brand new feature called theater mode.

In theater mode you can watch up to the last 25 games played. Theater mode does not record the whole game like as in an AVI, what it does is record the data from that game and stores it on your Xbox. What this means is that instead of some huge Video file that would eat up space on your hard drive and take forever to load, you have the game data which takes little storage space and loads vary quickly.

The data it pulls from the HDD in essence talks to the game engine when played back, what that means is that when you play the clip its as if the game is being played right as your watching it. This gives you the freedom to fly around with in the match like a ghost and take screen shots from virtually any angle you like. As your flying around getting your shots, you have control of the game frame by frame, regular play, fast forward speed and pause. This feature can get a little addicting, and sometimes I find myself using this feature more then playing the game.

Halo & Me

I love the experience of escaping to another world where I can be a anything I want, that is what being a Gamer does for me. I have fond experiences with video games growing up like the time I got my first game console the Nintendo entertainment system with Mario Bros and Duck Hunt when I was around the age of twelve. I played for hours on both titles with a dramatic ending to Mario Bros crying to my mom because I could not beat the last boss and save the princess. Some of my favorite titles over the years have been Final Fantasy Seven, Metal Gear Solid (for the PS1), Tomb Raider 1, Silent Hill 1 and many more.

The game that caught my attention and eats up my free time to this day is Halo. I love the whole Halo Series that Bungie Studios have created. On their most recent title Halo 3, I have logged over two hundred hours and played around two thousand games. Halo 3 has longevity with much too offer like Film Clips, Screenshots, New Maps, Unlockable Items and tons of other cool features. Aside from all my other dream jobs, the one that weighs on my mind the most is working for Bungie Studios, even if I start out sweeping the floors and emptying the trash, I would be happy to just have my foot in the door.

I love Technology and being involved in the evolution of it, I’m not as keen as I want to be on certain subjects involving entertainment technology but none the less this will be something that will keep my interest for a very long time.
